Microchipping

What is a Microchip?

A microchip, also known as a radio frequency identification device (RFID), is the most effective form of permanent identification for your companion animals. Microchips are approximately the size of a grain of rice (see below photo) and are safe to use for pet identification purposes.

How is a Microchip implanted and is it safe?

Implanting a microchip into your furry friend  won’t hurt any more than a routine vaccination. It is placed just under the skin between the shoulder blades. This is a safe and quick procedure that can save your animals life if they should ever be impounded.

How Does a Microchip Work?

Your animals microchip number is unique only to them. Once you have completed the paperwork with your details and your animals details it will be sent into the Australasian Animal Registry with this microchip number to be registered.

Should your animal ever get lost and go to a vet, shelter or pound, they will use a microchip scanner to read the chip number and contact the registry to access your details. You will then be contacted to retrieve your animal.
Only authorised
persons such as rangers and vets are registered to gain access to such information with the microchip registries so your personal information will always remain private.

My Services

I have been microchipping animals for 10 years and make sure the procedure is done quickly and as pain free as possible.

I will register the microchip to your details on the spot and you will receive confirmation of this registration via an email from the Australasian Registry.
